It appears that the Corn Refiners Association (CRA) in the USA is fighting back against allegations that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is increasing the risk of diabetes, liver disease and obesity by…  Can you guess how?  No, it’s not new scientific research or in-depth clinical trials, but by…  Changing the name!

If the CRA get their way, no longer will you see HFCS as in ingredient but instead it will say ‘Corn Sugar’.

I guess they’re hoping that we think that sounds so much healthier!  As Shakespeare wrote, ‘A rose by any other name would smell as sweet’ and HFCS by any other name will taste as sweet…
